R&D Status and Pipeline
Infectious diseases - Lead candidate AB103 demonstrated proof of concept in multiple in-vivo animal models, increasing host survival in a broad spectrum of bacterial infections, rescuing 80-100% of animals from gram-negative, gram-positive and polymicrobial lethal bacterial infections and from lethal toxic shock induced by superantigen toxins. AB103 was shown to (i) accelerate pathogen clearance (directly correlated to increased survival), (ii) reduce organ damage, (iii) reduce Th1 and inflammatory cytokines/chemokines response, both in systemic circulation and at the local site of infection and (iv) reduce tissue damage at the site of infection.
In a large animal model, AB103 protected pigs from superantigen-induced incapacitation, strongly reducing clinical symptoms.
Inflammatory diseases – Atox Bio’s molecules effectively and reproducibly suppressed (1) symptoms of Th1-cytokine mediated delayed-type hypersensitivity (DTH) response in mice; (2) adjuvant arthritis in rats, even for weeks after treatment was stopped, with no rebound of disease; (3) symptoms of multiple sclerosis in mice; and (4) symptoms of collagen-induced rheumatoid arthritis in mice.
